Indigenous Nursing Scholarship graduate Isla Whitby

At Mediserve, we love a happy ending. Or in this case, a happy ending with a happy beginning.
Back in 2023, we supported Isla Whitby’s nursing studies through the Second Home Scholarship. The Second Home Scholarship supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students’ accommodation costs while they study.
We are grateful to Curtin University for the opportunity to provide scholarships for future nurses, particularly Indigenous nurses. What is even nicer is seeing the results of that support - so seeing Isla graduate as a nurse is a really special type of joy.

Isla is now a qualified nurse, and will be working at a major hospital in Theatre.
When she made her statement for the Scholarship Board at the beginning of her studies, she said, "I want to give back to my people and the Aboriginal community.” We’re convinced Isla will do that, as well as helping the community as a whole.
We wish Isla all the best in her career as a nurse.
